Faculty of Information Technology at Mari University  plays an important role in advancing to the highest levels of development in education by training students with the most sophisticated development in technology.

Vision

Faculty of Information Technology at Mari University seeks to achieve quality and excellence in higher education, and occupy a prominent scientific position in higher education in northern Syria by providing a distinguished environment for university education, scientific research and community service, which qualifies it to compete at all levels.

Mission

Preparing qualified and specialized graduates who are able to meet the needs of society and the market and who are creative in information technology.

Objectives

BS.C in Information Technology aims to prepare informatics engineers in general, and informatics engineers specialized in software engineering, artificial intelligence, or computer systems and networks in particular, and possess basic knowledge and skills in these engineering sciences, by providing an appropriate environment for the application of modern teaching methods. These methods motivate students to collect, analyze, synthesize and generate solutions, and to innovate and innovate. It also aims to provide students through this environment with the necessary theoretical and applied knowledge needed by informatics engineers.

Expectations and Skills

The student is expected to possess a set of knowledge and values, including:
1. Understanding the theoretical foundations related to information technologies.
2. Understanding engineering principles and methods.
3. Recognizing the mathematical principles related to mathematical analysis, numerical analysis, mathematical algebra, probability and statistics.
4. Recognizing the basics of designing information systems and software, and to know how to implement and test this information.
5. Recognizing the foundations of designing artificial intelligence systems, and knowing how to implement and test those systems.
6. Recognizing the basics of protecting information systems, data and networks.

Mental Skills

The student is expected to possess a range of knowledge and skills, including:
1. Describing the requirements of software systems and defining them using information tools.
2. Designs computer systems (software, hardware and networks) by applying the knowledge and tools necessary for design and modeling.
3. Comparing technical solutions to a problem and selects the most appropriate technical solution.
4. Designing an action plan to implement a project, and tests it by applying the appropriate theoretical knowledge and informational tools.

Professional and practical skills

The student is expected to possess a range of knowledge and skills, including:
1. Effectively monitors and analyzes the data generated by the test.
2. Mastering project management methods and controls the quality of information systems.
3. Proficient in database design, implementation and testing methods.
4. Proficiency in the design of computer networks, methods of implementation and testing.
5. Proficient in various informatics tools needed for analysis, design, implementation and testing.
6. Proficiency in different programming and networking technologies, programming in different languages, and using different development platforms.

General and transferable skills

The student is expected to possess a set of knowledge, skills and values, including:
1. Working in a multidisciplinary team and communicating with non-specialists.
2. Demonstrating effective personal skills in the work environment.
3. Self-learn and adopting lifelong learning as a working method.
4. Working in a stressful work environment to achieve the required work on time.
5. Demonstrating personal commitment to the profession’s standards and ethics
